Learning to shoot:
Shooting is an art. Those who do not think so either aren't good at it, or haven't ever held a gun. There is much to learn, but after a few simple lessons from me, you can learn the intricacies of this ART on your own. There are many different kinds of sights, but here is how to use the two that are the most common.
Learning to use the iron sights:
Usually, all guns come with iron sights and these are simple to use. Many guns use a 3 dot sight. With these, all you have to do is make the dots line up in a row and you'll hit what you've got your gun pointed at. If your gun doesn't have dots, don't freak out. Just align the sights as shown in the picture and it'll work in the same way.

Learning to use a scope:
Assuming that the scope has been sighted in accurately, the you just put the center of the crosshairs on the target and what you see is what you shoot. At least at whatever distance the scope was sighted in for. If you have a scope and can't hit jack shit at 100 yards, then you need to stick to the iron sights. Below is a scan of a target I shot at 100 yards with a .22 caliber rifle with a scope. A penny was placed near the target when I scanned it to show the scale of the target. Can you shoot like that? Probably not...
